Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master to join our team in a direct hire role. In this pivotal position, you will ensure our clients and public users gain access to actionable data and valuable insights. By integrating human-centered design and engineering with a profound understanding of data as a product, you will facilitate the swift and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge. Your contributions will support various essential functions, enhancing our capacity to deliver substantial value to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and mentorship to a development team, steering them toward sprint goals and ensuring project milestones are met.
• Apply Agile principles to address routine challenges and enhance team collaboration.
• Utilize Agile tools to implement meaningful process improvements, allowing your team to achieve prioritized results within established timelines.
• Supervise data visualization engineering, contributing to the creation of data visualization libraries and designing customized visual representations.
• Construct data pipelines to ingest and transform data into visual-ready assets, ensuring publication on platforms such as data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
• Manage resources, strategize implementation processes, and monitor progress for public-facing data channel initiatives.
• Conduct user research, user experience design, interaction design, and information architecture for a diverse portfolio of projects.

Required Skills

• Proficient in Agile project management software, including JIRA.
• Strong grasp of project management frameworks and software development processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective interactions with clients, engineers, and managers.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Scrum Master and/or Product Manager for Agile teams.
• Certified SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification alongside Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
