About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Account Manager to strategically manage and grow a portfolio of independent and key accounts, with a focus on Major Appliances (Cooling, Laundry, Cooking, and Dish) and Small Domestic Appliances (SDA). In this role, you will drive sales and margin growth, maintain profitable customer relationships, and achieve sustained year-over-year growth for both existing and new accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Development: Formulate and execute long-term strategies to meet sales and profit targets, ensuring sustainable growth.
- Client Engagement: Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with accounts across Southeast England to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities.
- New Market Identification: Proactively explore new business avenues and expand market reach.
- Account Management: Foster strong relationships with existing and prospective partners to maximize sales opportunities and profitability.
- Sales Enablement: Support revenue generation through promotions, marketing campaigns, and targeted training initiatives.
- Forecasting & Planning: Deliver accurate sales forecasts to streamline stock planning and optimize inventory management.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze and present account performance at sales meetings, contributing insights and strategic recommendations.
- Pricing & Budget Oversight: Manage pricing strategies, promotions, and budget allocations to maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Market Analysis: Stay current with industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and enhance competitiveness.
- Brand Advocacy: Drive brand awareness through customer training and proactive relationship management.
- Logistics & Financial Coordination: Address aged debt concerns and ensure efficient logistics and service delivery.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management and finance to resolve payment and credit matters.
- Head Office Engagement: Attend regular sales meetings at Head Office in Leeds.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake ad hoc tasks as required to support business objectives.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Based in Southeast England with the ability to travel to clients within the region three days per week.
- 3+ years of experience in account management or field sales, with a strong background in managing independent accounts.
- Proven expertise in managing key accounts, ideally within the Major Domestic Appliances (MDA) sector.
- Demonstrated success in meeting KPIs and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Valid Full UK Driving Licence.
