KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER – SOUTH SPAIN

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to be a part of a team to promote innovative breakthrough treatments for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). The Therapeutic Specialist / Key Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all barriers to usage of our products are addressed and that all patients who could benefit from the products have access to it.

He/she will be responsible for developing and executing specific account level business plans at all CF Centers; communicating disease and product knowledge to healthcare professional customers and ensuring that the full long-term value of the products is fully understood by all relevant stakeholders.

Additionally, he/she will work with the Access team to overcome the regional/local access barriers, being knowledgeable of all key Regional / Local stakeholders and to navigate regional and local processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote safe and effective use of our drugs, in accordance with the product label to ensure that the benefits and long term value of the products are fully understood
  • Provide relevant disease state and on-label product information
  • Interact with wide variety of key stakeholders in assigned geography
  • Identify key local access stakeholders. Build, develop and maintain professional long-term relationships with them, aligning the Market Access strategy to the local needs.
  • Contribute to shape regional Market Access strategies for CF, designing and deploying dedicated initiatives in close cooperation with the regional Market Access Manager.
  • Responsible for individual performance at the territory level and contribute to regional and national team performance
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation to meet customer needs and address gaps in the care system
  • Stay current on the CF environment; maintain in-depth knowledge of disease, local drivers, treatment and referral patterns, key account profiles, influence patterns, reimbursement, and barriers to optimal care
  • Responsible for developing and executing account level business plan, including promotional activities for customers; forecasting and tracking promotional budget
  • Work collaboratively across functional areas to achieve common goals
  • Facilitate the coordination of internal and external resources to enhance patient care
  • Embody Vertex’s core values and leadership behaviors
  • Participate in meetings, and take on projects, as requested by management.
  • Provide assistance in recruiting and training as needed.
  • Exercises sound judgment and adheres to relevant regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies.

Education

  • University degree in Science or Business subjects.

Skills & Experience

  • Solid sales experience in specialty, hospitals, pharmaceuticals
  • Proven track record working with product launches in a key account manager role
  • Experience in hospital access
  • Strong ability building and managing relationships with different key stakeholders such as healthcare professionals, pharmacists and hospital managers
  • Strategic and analytic thinking, initiative, proactive attitude and solid decision-making capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability working effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in Spanish and fluent in English is a must.
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time in territory of responsibility: Andalucía, Extremadura and Canary Island regions. Sevilla or Málaga based.
