Lead Backend Engineer Python (Remote)

Location: Los Angeles / New York, NY, US / Remote (United States)

We are looking for a Backend Tech lead for a Series A SaaS startup that works with in the logistics / supply chain vertical to help people move goods from port to first-mile destination faster, more reliably, and more cost-effectively.

As the Tech Lead, you will be building the platform technology and infrastructure that drives product delivery. You will join a team responsible for building out data pipelines and ensuring the accuracy of our data

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other software engineers.
• Translating product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect, robust code.
• Researching new technologies and methodologies to improve our architecture, software components, user experience, and development process
• Spending 50% of your time coding to develop and deploy software, especially focusing on web scraping and data pipeline tasks

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Python engineering experience, developing and deploying software in a short cycle using Agile methodologies
• Solid development skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, or Go
• Experienced in data sourcing technologies (external APIs, web-scraping, EDI files, etc.) and building data management platforms
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, building pipelines, and ETL processes
• Interest and/or experience in logistics and/or supply chain in a Start-up environment
• Experience working on cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
