This is a permanent role.If you have in-house or private practice experience and can access anymajor hubs such as Sydney, Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne, please applybelow.Position Overview:This role is designed to provide comprehensive support to the SeniorDirector, Legal and Compliance, focusing primarily on legal and compliancematters within the South East Asia and Pacific regions. The incumbent willplay a crucial role in addressing legal challenges and providing strategicadvice, with a specific emphasis on the Pacific cluster (Australia and NewZealand) while also extending support to legal matters in the South EastAsia cluster (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand,Vietnam). Collaboration with various internal teams across clusters andregions is essential for successful execution in this role.Qualifications and Skills:Proficiency in contract law, including drafting and negotiation.Experience in privacy, employment, competition, and consumer protectionlaw.Strong commercial acumen, capable of assessing risks and offeringpractical solutions.High stakeholder orientation and adept prioritisation skills.Ability to work autonomously and manage diverse workloads within achallenging legal environment.Education and Experience Requirements:Graduate of a recognised law school and licensed member of the legalprofession in Australia or New Zealand.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in either multinationalcorporations’ legal departments or international law firms.Experience in FMCG, sports, or retail industries is preferred.Extensive experience in corporate law, commercial contracts, privacy,employment, and competition and consumer law.Sound knowledge of legal systems in Australia and New Zealand,including litigation experience.Willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment, coupled withindependence and responsiveness.Key Responsibilities:General Legal:Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and correspondence.Providing legal counsel on various operational issues, includingcommercial, employment, competition, and consumer law.Structuring transactions, assessing risks, and minimisingdisputes.Representation in conciliations and employment disputes.Leading or participating in legal projects and cross-functionalefforts.Contribution to global and regional legal initiatives for bestpractices.Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies within the legalteam.Supervision of external counsel delivery.Monitoring legal and regulatory changes in the Pacific markets andproviding counsel.Conducting relevant legal educational programs and materials.Compliance and Privacy:Ensuring compliance with local privacy and competition laws.Conducting training and managing internal protocols to minimise legalrisks.Collaboration with global stakeholders for transparency on legalrisks.Raising awareness and analysing compliance risks andopportunities.Developing and delivering legal and compliance training.Supporting corporate compliance programs and initiatives.Collaborating on privacy and information security to comply withrelevant laws.Assisting in managing internal personal information protectionprotocols.Key Relationships:FinanceBrand/MarketingeCommerceWholesale OperationsSupply Chain ManagementRetail and Franchise OperationsNon-Trade ProcurementCustomer ServiceExternal customersHRITElevateFlex provides an unparalleled platform for you to work withinnovative companies and law firms worldwide on various exciting andchallenging roles.
