**Carter Lumber** **Senior Level Component Designer – National Accounts** **Engineered Wood & Truss Design – Remote – Full Time** . You can work from home!** Carter Lumber has an amazing opportunity to be a remote Senior Level Component Designer working with our National Accounts design team. As a Senior Designer, you’ll support the design needs for our National Builders as a part of our National Design Team. In this role you will be able to use your design skills to design Roof Trusses, Floor Trusses, EWP, and Wall Panels in a whole-house design file. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary for this position.

****MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.****

**Requirements to be Considered for this Position:**

* 5-10 Years of experience designing Truss, EWP, and Wall Panels for Single-Family Custom or Tract Builders.

* Previous experience using MiTek truss design software. SE required.

* Previous experience using MiTek Management and the Tract-Master features.

* High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed.

* Complete understanding of processes including: RFI, Submittals, Production Files.

* Knowledgeable in reading architectural and structural plans.

* Experience working in a multi-location environment.

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

* Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.

* Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Responsibilities of the Position:**

*Designing*

* Creates design illustrations based on construction documents.

* Completes and finalizes engineered designs for production and assembly.

* Reviews engineered designs to ensure that design standards are being met.

* Communicates design information effectively with both internal and external customers.

*Checking and Training*

* Supports the Design Manager by checking engineering for component products.

* Gives corrections and detailed explanations to less experienced designers.

* Identifies areas for improvement and coordinates training efforts with designers.

*Physical Aspects*

* Ability to spend long periods of time on the phone and computer.

* Ability to type and sit for long periods of time.
