Job Overview
We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven Business Development Representative specializing in the logistics and transportation sector. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in fostering business expansion and enhancing our client portfolio nationwide. Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and oversee a robust sales pipeline, proactively engaging potential business prospects.
- Achieve and surpass defined revenue targets and business development objectives.
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and engaging product demonstrations to showcase our logistics solutions.
- Manage the entire sales process, from initial outreach through negotiation to deal closure.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service terms that align client needs with company objectives.
- Prepare tailored proposals and quotes that address specific client requirements.
- Formulate and execute business development strategies, leveraging cold calls, email outreach, in-person meetings, and attendance at industry events.
- Collaborate effectively with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to promote long-term partnerships.
- Conduct market research to remain informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide regular updates on sales pipeline status, revenue forecasts, and business development initiatives to management.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM systems and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Comprehensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management services, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, combined with strong negotiation and persuasion capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide innovative, solution-focused approaches to client challenges.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable sales experience in transportation, 3PL logistics, or brokerage, with a proven track record of revenue growth.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and generate new business.
- Experience in delivering professional presentations to diverse audiences.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an advantage.
