POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electronic Filing Specialist assists with all steps in the lifecycle of an electronic filing, including but not limited to advance communication with case teams ahead of the filing deadline, researching rules and requirements, reviewing documents, submitting compliant documents in a timely manner, and coordinating any necessary courtesy copies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes electronic filing of documents in federal and state courts and agencies in a timely and compliant manner, including emailing proposed orders to chambers as needed.
- Researches court rules and e-filing procedures to provide guidance to case teams.
- Reviews documents for compliance with local rules and requirements; works with Docket Counsel-West and Director of Docket regarding any complex issues as it relates to requirements.
- Communicates with courts clerks and agencies as necessary to confirm current rules and procedures.
- Confirms all confidential material has been properly redacted from documents.
- Coordinates the distribution of courtesy copies as needed.
- Researches changes in e-filing procedures for relevant courts and communicates these changes to Docket Counsel-West.
- Maintains online e-filing ticketing system for department.
- Assists Docket Counsel-West with maintenance of e-filing accounts and databases.
- Assists Docket Counsel-West with the development of electronic filing training materials for attorneys and staff.
- Assists Docket Counsel-West with special projects as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years e-filing experience in a law firm setting required.
- This role is fully remote and must reside in a commutable distance to the local applicable office.

Skills :
- Ability to prepare documents with minimal errors; good proofreading skills; excellent attention to detail.
- Compulaw experience a plus.
Schedule :
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed, often with minimal notice.

SALARY
Los Angeles based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $78,000 – $93,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. To tal compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
Bay Area based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $90,000 – $107,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. To tal compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
