About the Company – We are currently seeking a skilled Lead Data Science & ML Engineer to join our team and drive high-impact data projects from ideation to production.
About the Role – The Lead Data Science & ML Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and data science solutions across the organization. This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of data scientists and engineers to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in machine learning, a passion for driving business impact through data, and the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- ML Model Development: Lead the development, testing, and deployment of scalable machine learning models to solve business-critical problems.
- Data Science Strategy: Define the data science strategy, working with stakeholders to align projects with business goals and prioritize initiatives.
- Pipeline Design & Optimization: Design end-to-end data pipelines, optimizing for performance and scalability, and ensure smooth data flow from ingestion to model deployment.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Model Evaluation & Tuning: Implement model evaluation metrics, perform hyperparameter tuning, and continually improve model accuracy and reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and business analysts, to integrate data science solutions into production environments.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Establish and promote data science best practices, documentation standards, and code review processes to ensure quality and reproducibility.
- Stay Current: Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and machine learning, bringing innovative ideas to enhance our capabilities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning, with 2+ years in a leadership or mentorship role. Proven track record of delivering production-grade ML models and data science solutions.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in machine learning algorithms, data preprocessing, and feature engineering. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R; experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, and MLflow. Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML deployment tools. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) is a plus.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to translate business problems into data science solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and handling large datasets.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, statistical analysis, and experimentation techniques.
- Knowledge of MLOps and experience in managing machine learning model lifecycles.
