Machine Learning Engineer (Remote)

Compass Reg supports leading agriculture companies to simplify their regulatory work, helping them bring new products to the farmers who need them. We tackle regulatory challenges in a unique way, leveraging a modern software platform that increases automation, security, and organization of regulatory work plus a team of deep regulatory experts who support our customers in navigating the complex, evolving regulatory landscape. We then make that critical data available to product users across the industry, from retailers to farm technology providers.

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing technical team (currently five engineers) to automate regulatory services.

In this role you will:

• Collaborate with the founding team to apply emerging technologies to multiply the productivity of internal and service operations
• Bridge research and implementation in building end-to-end systems integrating human data and QC, model design, implementation, and evaluation, and production inference services
• Deeply engage with domain-rich problems in partnership with teammates who are experts in ag. regulatory
• Tackle real problems for eager customers requiring highly accurate and reliable solutions
• Share in building a technical community that promotes curiosity and innovation

What You Bring

• 4+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist, machine learning engineer, or scientific software engineer
• Masters degree in a technical field or two additional years of experience solving applied problems with software and quantitative reasoning
• Eagerness to own core data and ML technologies supporting key product areas
• Track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship data-intensive features
• Experience with Python, Docker, LLM output evaluation and fine-tuning, multi-modal AI models or workflows, OpenAI and similar API endpoints
• Preferred: experience in AgTech

Compensation Range: $130K – $200K
