About the Position: Mainframe Developer
Experience Level: Mid-Level (3-5 Years)
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with 3-5 years of experience in COBOL, JCL, Assembler, C and DB2. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications that are critical to our business operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work effectively in a team environment and has a deep understanding of mainframe technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Support: Perform regular maintenance and provide technical support for existing mainframe applications written in COBOL, Assembler, C and DB2. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Code Review and Testing: Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of the applications.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development and maintenance activities. Ensure that all technical documentation is up to date and easily accessible.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, business analysts, QA testers, and other developers.
- System Analysis: Analyze system requirements and specifications to determine the best approach for development. Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, and DB2. Ability to write, analyze, and debug complex code. Experience with Assembler and/or C Language is preferred along with other mainframe tools. In-depth knowledge of mainframe environment.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
