About the role
The Manager Market Registration provides leadership and direction on AEMOs Market Registration application processes in the electricity and gas wholesale and retail markets.
In this role, you will develop long-term relationships with key energy industry players, partners and stakeholders including policy makers, regulators, generation developers, Network Service Providers and Participants to help guide and understand how onboarding processes impact them.You will also play important role in supporting AEMO teams (across System Design, Operations and Market Reforms) during change implementation and embedding new registration practices, through ongoing coaching and engagement activities.
What you will be doing
- Leadership and day-to-day management of the Market Registration team’s registration activities, including support and development of staff to maximise their capability and value to the organisation, and management of people related activities.
- Work with internal stakeholders to resolve complex registration regulatory issues and case manage complex and high-profile registrations and related stakeholder issues.
- Represent AEMO in industry forums with the aim to identify, develop and promote challenges and opportunities for, and a clear understanding of, AEMO’s registration process.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvements to streamline the registration process both for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop policy positions on arising registration matters for consideration and endorsement by the Participant Registration Committee.
What you will bring to the role
- Previous similar experience in a small to medium sized organisation ideally within energy or related industry relevant to the development and operation of regulated markets.
- Detailed knowledge of the political, legal and regulatory framework in which the energy industry operates.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and managing a diverse geographically dispersed team.
- Extensive experience in leading change that results in market enhancements or productivity enhancements, and strong project management skills to deliver initiatives.
- Well-versed in advocating, negotiating and influencing outcomes in a complex technical/commercial/political environment – often without direct policy guidance or precedents.
