Job Description
We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented team player who thrives on organization and finds joy in transforming ideas into polished, engaging content. You’re someone who sees the value in systems and processes, loves crafting error-free and captivating content, and is energized by working remotely and connecting with team members. When you commit to a task, you stay focused until it’s completed, and you have a knack for knowing when to seek guidance if needed.
Comfortable with technology, you enjoy supporting our video content efforts, working independently, and being a proactive, adaptable team member. Experience in the travel industry is a wonderful plus! Your exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to excellence are fundamental qualities we seek in everyone at Rothschild Safaris.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Content Creation and Ideation
o Generate captivating written and video travel content, assisting with video projects that bring our stories to life.
o Stay inspired by industry trends to bring fresh, creative ideas to newsletters, blogs, and social media channels.
- Social Media Content
o Develop, schedule, and manage posts across Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, using relevant hashtags and tracking performance.
o Support the creation of engaging video content, customized posts, and insights reporting.
- Website Content
o Write bi-weekly blog posts on diverse travel topics, optimizing for SEO and maximizing engagement.
o Keep key website pages updated with fresh, high-quality content that resonates with our audience.
- Newsletter Development
o Design a bi-weekly newsletter that showcases recent content and enticing itineraries.
o Collaborate on ideas for newsletter topics and blog content, and integrate tracking tools.
- Video Content Assistance
o Collaborate on the creation of informative video content, including FAQs, client stories, and interviews.
- Graphic Design and Branding
o Design engaging client-facing documents and graphics for social media, staying true to our brand aesthetic.
- Additional Creative Projects
o Bring your ideas to team brainstorming sessions, support testimonial collection, and take on ad-hoc design requests.
The goal is to create an inspiring, cohesive brand presence through compelling and strategic content across all platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Exceptional Writing and Editing Skills
o You have a mastery of the English language and create clear, error-free, and captivating content.
- Video Content Collaboration
o You’re skilled at contributing to engaging video projects, supporting content that resonates with our audience.
- Luxury Travel Knowledge
o Familiarity with African luxury travel is a significant advantage.
- Social Media Expertise
o You understand the nuances of different social media platforms and can optimize content to maximize engagement.
- SEO and Analytics Savvy
o You know how to leverage SEO best practices and analyze social media performance to keep campaigns on track.
- Mailchimp Proficiency
o Experience with Mailchimp for designing newsletters and monitoring performance is a must.
- Graphic Design Skills
o Proficiency in graphic design software to create visually appealing content is essential.
- Strong Organizational Skills
o With your organization and time-management abilities, you efficiently juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Remote Work Readiness
o With a stable, fast internet connection, you thrive as a self-starter in a remote environment, balancing independence with collaboration.

Compensation + Perks:
o Contractor agreement
o Remuneration depending on skill and experience

Terms of Employment:
- Based in JHB South Africa – Full-time Monday-Friday 8m-5pm with a hour for lunch. Flexibility for meetings (our team is international so at times we have to schedule meetings outside of our normal working hours)
- Work remotely from home office which needs to be set up with 2 screens
- Company will provide you with a laptop (all other computer equipment will need to be provided by you)
- Reliable internet connection
- Must be registered with South African Revenue Service
