Position Summary
The Membership Outreach & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting ITA’s communication efforts with its membership. Reporting to the Project/Development Manager, this role focuses on membership outreach and renewals, maintaining accurate contact and membership lists, and coordinating online programming. Additionally, the Coordinator creates and distributes communication materials to members, gathers valuable business resources to support their development, and assists in coordinating special events. Serving as the primary point of contact for membership and development inquiries, this position is essential in fostering member engagement, enhancing satisfaction, and building connections within the Indigenous tourism community.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Administration
- Process membership renewals and coordinate mailouts for new members.
- Maintain and regularly update membership and contact lists.
- Review and approve new membership applications.
- Support ITA special events by managing invitations, surveys, and special guest coordination.
- Order swag and gift items for special events and membership needs.
- Assist regional representatives in onboarding new members.
Member Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for membership-related inquiries.
- Develop and maintain an FAQ database and other member support resources.
- Manage membership and general info email accounts, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Conduct outreach and retention-focused calls to collect information, provide program updates, address concerns, and maintain engagement.
- Create and distribute newsletters and updates for members and industry partners using Mailchimp.
- Update and organize membership materials, including guides and resource documents.
Resource Coordination & Programming
- Deliver ITA’s virtual programs, such as ITA 101 and Tea Time sessions, to enhance engagement and build connections.
- Collaborate with the team to identify and share valuable business resources with members.
Requirements
- Related post-secondary education in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the tourism or non-profit sector.
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Zoom, Mailchimp, WordPress, and Eventbrite for effective communication and event management.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com or Asana to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.
- Basic design skills using Canva (or equivalent) to create visually appealing content.
- Knowledge of Canada Post and other mailout procedures for smooth and efficient distribution processes.
- Experience coordinating with designers and managing print production with external vendors to deliver high-quality materials.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
