The Role

We are seeking a Microsoft Azure Data Engineer where you will use both your design and development skills to lead in the implementation of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing projects across multiple clients. This role would suit someone with a technical background, with specialized experience within the Microsoft BI stack and a strong business focus.

Ideally, you will bring at least 2-3 years of working experience with the Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, Data Lakes, Azure Synapse), as well as experience with Commercial Microsoft Fabric and Machine Learning modeling.

You will be comfortable talking about, and facilitating the value of data and business impact, at a business level, with a range of different customers and stakeholders. The right candidate will display a real passion for staying up to date with Microsoft’s goals and vision.

You will need technical ability to perform in the role, but you will also have a strong technical team around you to bounce off and lean on when required.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of current, technical working experience with Azure Data Platform (Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL Database)
• Experience with end-to-end implementation of an Azure Cloud Data Warehouse
• Expertise in data modeling, ELT using ADF, implementing complex views
• Experience in designing and implementing solutions on the Azure cloud data platform, with a focus on modern data warehousing. This includes expertise in areas such as Azure logging and monitoring, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI
• Previous experience with Commercial Microsoft Fabric
• Actively test and document implementations so others can easily understand the requirements, implementation, and test conditions
• Commercial experience with full-stack MS Power BI modeling (M code), DAX, data storytelling, report publishing, security, and knowledge of how people make decisions with data
• Ability to write SQL queries against Azure SQL Database / Synapse
• Machine Learning modeling experience
• Must have experience with Agile development methodologies
• DevOps CI/CD on Microsoft Fabric experience
• Experience working directly with technical and business teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. We are looking for a confident speaker with an engaging personality and ability to build rapport easily
• Experience in facilitating data use cases and requirements with business stakeholders
