About the Role

In this exceptional opportunity, we are seeking a motivated Data Engineer eager to elevate their career. You will play a crucial role in our reporting and analytics team, where you will be responsible for maintaining and modernizing our data processing pipelines. Your expertise will help us enhance our existing dashboards that track user activities and music catalog performance, showcasing insights like the most streamed songs, albums, and artists.

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably within an AWS environment.
  • Strong skills in SQL Server design and development.
  • A passion for music and technology, with a desire to innovate and improve user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipelines: Working within a reporting team that manages our current data processing pipelines.
  • Python Development:Writing efficient and scalable Python code to handle data processing and analysis tasks.
  • SQL Expertise: Designing, implementing, and optimizing SQL queries and databases to support data storage and retrieval needs.
  • Big Data Processing: Utilizing PySpark and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and real-time analytics.
  • AWS Integration: Leveraging AWS services to build robust, scalable data solutions within a serverless architecture.
  • Version Control with Git: Managing code repositories, collaborating with team members, and maintaining code integrity using Git.
  • Version Control with Git: Developing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and automated software delivery.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Jira: Excellent use of Jira and Confluence

Skills / Experience:

  • 3-5  years of commercial experience as a data engineer.
  • Proficient in AWS cloud environment
  • Proven experience in MS SQL Server
  • Experience in Git repository and Visual Studio
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal (English)
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment, with a high attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving skills

Desirable:

  • AWS Glue: Experience with AWS Glue for data integration and ETL processes.
  • Amazon Athena: Proficiency in using Amazon Athena for querying data stored in S3.
  • Data Lake Technologies: Familiarity with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg for building robust data lakes.
  • Amazon SQS: Experience with Amazon Simple Queue Service for managing message queues and ensuring reliable communication between services.
  • Amazon QuickSight: Ability to create insightful data visualizations and dashboards using Amazon QuickSight.
  • Apache Airflow: Knowledge of workflow automation and scheduling using Apache Airflow.
  • Data Warehousing: Experience in designing and managing data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics.
