Purpose of the Role

Provide creative graphic design solutions for briefs ranging from: brand identity, publications, digital, animations, marketing, way-finding and events. Key client base includes a wide range of organisations such as arts festivals, live performance companies, and classical music.

Key Duties

• Work on a wide range of design projects to develop innovative graphic designs that meet client goals
• Work independently as well as cooperatively with a team of designers to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and schedule of simultaneous projects
• Execute designs under the guidance of a Creative Director 
• Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials
• Undertake research and concept development tasks for design projects and demonstrates knowledge of historical and current trends in design

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent creativity and innovative design skills
• 3+ years of experience in professional graphic design, in agency or freelance 
• Qualification in graphic design, art, or related discipline from a university, TAFE or design college
• Deep experience with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, 
• Demonstrate a positive and professional communications style and presentation skills
• Diligent attention to detail in design work and content management 
• Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Desire to continue building skill set with education and training

Additional Desirable Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with other design software such as Dreamweaver and Adobe Animate
• Knowledge of common content management systems and working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
• Proficiency with photo-editing and image compositing
• Skills in a visual art practice such as painting and illustration  
• Familiarity with the Australian arts industry as a consumer and/or creator
