About the role
The National Account Director, Business Development reports to the VP, Strategic Sales, and will create new strategic partnerships with new clients for our Strategic Sales teams. This individual will target enterprise/national clients (new), developing mutually beneficial relationships to meet strategic business goals and to optimize value in both companies. This role will be responsible for selling the SaaS platform(s) along with selling advertising and media program(s) in digital and print formats, seeking to understand and sell products that align with new clients.
What you’ll do
- Prospects and cultivates business opportunities with new clients by developing and executing account strategy and sourcing plans designed to identify and win new business in order to achieve assigned quota.
- Possesses a strong understanding of Tech/SaaS sales, with the ability to comprehend clients’ technical needs and recommend suitable products in an easily understandable manner.
- Creates innovative ways to find and connect with new clients, selling SaaS platform/products by showing their strategic and financial benefits.
- Utilizes strong network and prospecting skills to find leads, build rapport and introductions, to win and close new business opportunities.
- Creates and refines detailed sourcing, sales strategy plans, and processes to consistently achieve performance objectives, goals, and quota through new business development.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with other departments (Customer Experience, Creative Services, Marketing, etc.) to identify ways to provide exceptional customer experiences throughout the sales life cycle.
- Updates and maintains real time information in CRM to manage day to day activities that drives successful business outcomes.
- Creates and continuously maintains a pipeline of high-quality opportunities, always seeking to find new business opportunities to deliver against quota.
- Uses data to identify and inform new clients on ways to meet strategic business goals and to optimize value.
- Prepares reports and data such as forecasts, gap plans, pipeline management and client documentation.
- Prepares and conducts market research, analyzes trends, and prepares reports on sales performance, various data, and market trends.
- Prepares and conducts presentations for leaders at all levels, providing insightful client-focused information and data demonstrating how our products and services benefit their company goals.
- Researches and utilizes various learning outlets to continuously learn about products and services while becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure our products and sales strategies consistently meet our prospective clients’ needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Performance driven mindset with a passion for new logo acquisition and a proven track record of winning new business, especially selling SaaS products/platforms, with enterprise/national companies.
- Proven track record of success in Technical/SaaS sales with experience in understanding the technical needs of the client(s) and suggesting the appropriate products in a way that is easily understandable.
- Organized with exceptional time-management skills working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven individual contributor with a high level of business acumen, always focusing on the customer, with an ability to analyze a growing amount of data to drive insights to facilitate decisions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Competitive, resilient, and intellectually curious, with established success of finding creative ways to sell and problem solve client objections, conduct market research, prospect and win new business, etc.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team maintaining effective communication and consistent delivery on goals, projects, and quota while on the road/working remotely.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a performance driven sales culture with an emphasis on prospecting and winning new business at the Enterprise/National level.
- Proven track record of success selling DTC in Home Services, Financial Services, Direct Response, Retail, QSR, a plus.
- Technologically savvy with professional experience in consistently utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and other sales tools.
- Experience and skilled at presenting to key stakeholders (C-Suite, Senior Level Leaders, etc.) showcasing elite presentation skills and a keen since of timing with the confidence to influence decision making.
- Digital Media fluency, a plus.
- Advertising, Media, Marketing, Agency, experience a plus.
