Our client is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to sourcing, producing, and supplying innovative and indulgent snacks to a global market. With a strong presence in the retail sector and a rich history of collaboration with Costco, they are expanding into new retail channels and seeking a skilled sales leader to join their team.
The base salary for this position is up to $135,000 plus a 10-15% bonus.
Position Overview
The National Account Manager will drive sales success across the Western United States. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep understanding of retail sales to develop and implement strategic sales plans, cultivate strong relationships with buyers, and expand the brand’s presence both within its category and globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates directly with the Director of Sales to create and execute sales strategies that achieve or exceed sales goals within the assigned customer portfolio and regions.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with buyers, demonstrating a thorough understanding of their needs and objectives.
- Analyzes sales data to identify growth opportunities and implements strategic adjustments to maximize performance.
- Masters the product categories and offerings, and provides feedback on new product opportunities based on buyer input.
- Manages inventory levels within Costco regions, ensuring optimal stock availability and product presentation.
- Works closely with other departments to deliver a seamless sales experience.
- Promotes a positive and productive work environment focused on timely feedback and exceptional customer service.
- Represents the company at 2-4 trade shows annually.
- Travels to each customer/region at least twice per year or as needed.
- Prepares compelling sales presentations and manages product samples.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a sales role with direct buyer experience and established relationships.
- Strong experience working with big box retailers (ex: Costco, Walmart, Target, etc).
- Experience selling directly to buyers in at least one of the following retail channels: club, mass, off-price, or grocery.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and meeting business objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of the club business model, including membership demographics, buying habits, and promotional strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
