We are seeking an experienced and passionate National Editor Knowledge Services to oversee the management, development, and delivery of our knowledge subscription services, Acumen. This is a key role that will directly contribute to the professional growth of our members and the wider architectural community.
Position Purpose
The National Editor, Knowledge Services will be responsible for maintaining the editorial excellence of Acumen, ensuring these resources remain current, relevant, and informative for Institute members and subscribers. You will manage the content creation, editing, and publication processes, overseeing the production of technical notes, collaborating with subject matter experts, and driving the strategic growth of these knowledge platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Acumen Management
– Oversee the production of technical notes for Acumen.
– Coordinate the editing and commissioning of notes.
– Facilitate committee meetings and provide secretariat services for the Acumen Content Review Panel (ACRP)and the Environment Advisory Group.
– Develop and distribute regular e-communications for subscribers and stakeholders.
- Qualifications and Experience
– Tertiary qualification in a built environment or design-related discipline.
– Relevant tertiary qualification in publishing or editing will be viewed favourably.
– Demonstrated experience in publishing or content management, ideally in a technical or professional setting.
– Strong understanding of sustainability issues within the built environment and architectural practice.
- Knowledge and Skills
– Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to work with complex technical content.
– Experience managing content production workflows and adhering to deadlines.
– Proficiency with web content management and social media platforms.
– Strong interpersonal and people-management skills, with a proven ability to engage with expert committees and stakeholders.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional association environment.
– Excellent organisational and time management skills.
