We are seeking an experienced New Power Generation – Project Engineer to join our team in Dubai.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in medium voltage equipment (33kV, 22kV, 11kV switchgear, transformers, RMU, protection relays) and the ability to execute projects, interpret schematic drawings, and liaise with back-office teams, supply chain, quality, and PMP processes. The role will involve managing qualification documents and PQ (Pre-Qualification) with customers
What you’ll do:
Customer Interaction & Support:
– Liaise with clients, providing technical support and resolving issues during the design, installation, and operational phases.
– Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring continuous communication and providing project updates.
– Build strong relationships with stakeholders to foster trust and enhance Eaton’s service reputation in the market.
– Ensuring the Lead Time for the Project is adhered and to liaise with back office for timely execution as committed.
– dentifying and planning all document deliverables required by the contractual scope of work and incorporating this plan into the overall project plan/schedule, tracking document progress and following up on overdue comments from customer.
Quality and Compliance:
– Ensure all projects adhere to international and regional standards, regulations, and Eaton’s quality control processes.
– Conduct factory and site acceptance tests to verify that the installed equipment meets all technical and safety standards.
– Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicating with all stakeholders, ensuring the project follows and complying with company health, safety and environmental policies, creating project HSE plans and ensuring that common HSE policies and reporting are implemented across the project with all stakeholders, including collaboration/consortium partners and sub-suppliers
Cross-functional Collaboration:
– Work closely with the sales, supply chain, and engineering teams to support project lifecycle management.
– Collaborate with the commercial teams to ensure smooth transitions between project stages and to manage risks and opportunities effectively.
– Closely interacting and collaborating with respective functions, supporting Procurement and Logistics in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes, acting as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
– Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and test results.
– Prepare project status updates and reports for internal and customer reviews.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
– Experience in medium voltage equipment projects, preferably in the New Power Generation sector.
– Extensive knowledge of medium voltage switchgear (33kV, 22kV, 11kV), transformers, RMUs, protection relays, auxiliary components, and schematic drawings.
– Strong understanding of project management processes (PMP certification is a plus).
– Familiarity with local regulations, quality standards, and certification processes in the Middle East energy sector.
– Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software for schematic interpretation.
Skills:
– Excellent project management and organizational skills.
– Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
– Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building long-term relationships.
– Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
