Numerical Software Engineer Algorithm Specialist (Remote)

We are seeking skilled software and algorithm developers to contribute to the advancement of sensor data processing technologies and scientific solutions that bolster national security and defense initiatives. As part of our innovative efforts, you will play a crucial role in delivering state-of-the-art data exploitation capabilities for various U.S. Government programs, specifically within the Department of Defense.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop innovative algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation.
• Demonstrate expertise in Python and C++, showcasing strong software design and architecture abilities.
• Create proof-of-concept tools for signal processing and image processing, utilizing Python.
• Enhance Python-based tools that support machine learning, modeling, and simulation tasks.
• Assess the performance and quality of algorithms and sensor systems.
• Collaborate within an Agile team environment, contributing to shared development tools.
• Execute additional responsibilities as required.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages.
• Strong software design and architecture skills.
• Experience with signal processing, image processing, and data exploitation methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Ability to evaluate algorithm performance and sensor system quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with C++, Python, and Linux operating systems (education may be considered in lieu of some experience).
• Proven experience working with OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remote sensing data.
• Full-time availability to work on-site in Boulder, CO.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation And Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of (117,000 – )168,000 per year, taking into account factors such as role responsibilities, experience, and education.
