Offshore Marine Coordinator (Remote)

Job Overview:

As a Offshore Marine Coordinator for the project, you will assume a leadership role in overseeing and managing the entire berthing operations team. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in maritime logistics, vessel handling, and safety protocols. The Berthing Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant berthing and unberthing of vessels at the project site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for optimizing berthing operations, considering project timelines, vessel schedules, and safety priorities.
• Collaborate with project management teams to align berthing strategies with overall project objectives.

1. Team Leadership:

• Lead and manage the berthing operations team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance.
• Foster a collaborative and safety-focused culture within the team.

1. Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay abreast of maritime regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines to ensure compliance in all berthing activities.
• Implement policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

1. Risk Management:

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for berthing operations and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Implement proactive measures to minimize risks and enhance the safety of all berthing activities.

1. Stakeholder Coordination:

• Liaise with port authorities, shipping agents, and other stakeholders to coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, and mooring activities.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the berthing team and other project teams.

1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for berthing operations and regularly monitor team performance against these metrics.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on berthing activities, safety performance, and compliance for project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Operations, Nautical Science, or a related field or Master COC II/2.
• Relevant certifications in maritime operations and safety.
• Proven leadership experience in a managerial capacity within berthing operations or a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of maritime regulations, port operations, and vessel handling.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions and manage a team effectively.

Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in berthing operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing berthing operations in complex offshore EPC projects.
