Operations And Logistics Manager Ecommerce | Exhale Healthy Coffee | UK
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Operations Manager to join Exhale during an exciting phase of growth. As the UK’s leading healthy coffee company, we’re racing to become the largest D2C coffee brand in the UK—and beyond! We’ve pioneered a new value proposition for coffee: health. Now, we’re making it mainstream!
In just four years, we’ve fulfilled nearly half a million orders and are now shipping over 10,000 orders per month. Over the coming months, we’re scaling from one roastery to three—including one in Germany—and launching multiple new product lines so it’s the perfect time to join our high-performing, close-knit team.
This role is not for the faint-hearted. We’re looking for someone strong, confident, and analytical who thrives in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. You will need to be exceptionally organised and awesome at forecasting. As Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of everything we do, taking on a dynamic range of responsibilities across the breadth of the business.
Note, there is no hands-on element to this role, you will be working fully remote so need to be comfortable picking up the phone. This role is managing the operations and logistics of an ecommerce, online business, it’s not directly managing a warehouse or roastery. It will be working alongside our current operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations across the business including multiple roasteries and warehouses.
- Forecast then co-ordinate the movement of coffee to ensure enough coffee is ordered from each origin, enough is delivered to each roastery, enough is roasted weekly by each roastery and finally enough is delivered to, and checked in by, our 3PL provider… so that our subscriber’s coffee deliveries are never a day late.
- Stock control for all packaging and all merchandise ensuring we never go out of stock.
- Oversee our international expansion for a smooth launch and ongoing operations.
- Project manage the operational side of any new projects. Such as expanding to new roasteries, launching in Europe or launching new products.
- Manage the quality control processes that are in place and ensure all are met. Rolling them out to any new partners.
- Source new suppliers for any existing products or operations where needed.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure new campaigns are executed smoothly without running out of product.
- Build upon the already awesome relationships we have with all in our supply chain. Work hard to foster equally close relationships with any new additions.
- Support NPD, sourcing new partners and suppliers if needed.
- Identifying and leading projects that will drive operational efficiency.
- Manage contracts and agreements. Ensuring SLAs are met, as well as negotiating better terms and prices as we grow to gain economies of scale.
About you:
- Analytical and logical, with high attention to detail. Able to analyse data and produce complex forecasts. This is a key part of this role, to keep coffee flowing to our subscribers.
- 3+ years experience working in operations or logistics. Experience in a D2C, ecommerce business is an advantage. As is an FMCG background.
- Exceptional project management skills, able turn plans into reality. A project management qualification is an advantage.
- Impeccably organised and able to confidently organise others to drive projects forward
- Self-motivated and able to work fully remotely
- Strong relationship builder, internally and externally, with excellent communication skills.
- Excellent Excel skills
- Problem-solving – able to identify and solve any problems swiftly.
- Able to prioritise a varied workload and keep on top of everything
What’s in it for you:
- A salary of £35k to £50k depending on experience
- Fully remote
- Flexible working hours, but usually 9-5.30pm Monday-Friday
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Team meetups at events, our own Exhale mini-festival and the roastery
- Free coffee!
- Pension scheme
- Equity for the most ambitious of candidates via a share option scheme
