About the Role:

As the Team Leader/Operations Manager for It’s Simple Finance, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of high-performing mortgage brokers. Your role is crucial in maintaining and boosting team performance, ensuring compliance, and providing superior service to clients. You will drive operational efficiency, uphold the company’s excellent service standards, and play a vital role in the growth of the mortgage broking business.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the mortgage broking team to achieve individual and collective performance goals.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one coaching sessions.

Performance Management:

  • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics, including sales volumes and settlement rates.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to enhance team productivity.
  • Implement strategies to drive overall team effectiveness.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and standards in all mortgage processes.
  • Review and approve loan applications for accuracy before submission to lenders.
  • Address client or operational issues promptly, maintaining high service quality.

Client Service Excellence:

  • Oversee client interactions to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client issues.

Training & Development:

  • Identify training needs and organize development programs for team members.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for new mortgage brokers to ensure familiarity with mortgage products and processes.
  • Stay informed of industry trends to provide relevant insights to the team.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate team workflows and identify areas for process improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement across the team.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular performance reports for senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis to drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

About You:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in mortgage broking or related financial services, with a focus on residential mortgages.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role, ideally within the mortgage or financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, credit standards, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in performance management.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and mortgage origination systems.
  • A qualification in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Split between two office locations: Oran Park and Barangaroo, with the flexibility to work from home.
  • Extended hours may occasionally be required to meet team goals and client deadlines.
