Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Insurance P&C Product Manager – Commercial Lines to join our esteemed Product and Actuarial Analysis Department. In this essential role, you will take charge of product innovation, pricing strategies, and analytical initiatives that drive our competitive edge in the market. Your expertise will be instrumental in overseeing the entire lifecycle of product revisions and developments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while championing innovative enhancements to our offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the comprehensive lifecycle of product development, from strategic planning to final execution, ensuring adherence to project controls.
  • Manage compliance initiatives with an in-depth understanding of state laws and regulations and implement necessary operational adjustments for statutory adherence.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis and performance monitoring of insurance products while evaluating competitor trends to inform data-driven decisions in underwriting, coverage, and pricing.
  • Develop and maintain coverage forms and endorsements for both new and existing products.
  • Proactively identify challenges and present strategic solutions to enhance performance and explore growth opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, advocating for new ideas and initiatives while managing risk effectively.
  • Provide executive management with strategic product recommendations and implement business unit objectives.
  • Execute competitive analyses to discover potential product opportunities.
  • Formulate and implement recommendations for product, underwriting, and pricing that support profitability and growth targets.
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the team and across departments to ensure achievement of project goals.
  • Oversee regulatory filings related to rates, rules, and form changes, ensuring compliance with legislative practices.
  • Assist with various ad hoc requests as necessary.

Required Skills

  • Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration.
  • Proficient in prioritizing, planning, executing, managing, and sponsoring diverse projects.
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical capabilities, with a thorough understanding of pricing dynamics.
  • Extensive knowledge of P&C insurance product design and underwriting practices.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Adaptability to changing situations, requirements, or priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with software/programming languages for key analytical applications is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in insurance product management, ideally within commercial lines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline, such as Insurance, Economics, Finance, Math, or Statistics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently, delivering results efficiently.
  • Background in legal or regulatory research is a plus.
