Job Description

Position Overview:

SSF is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing and processing payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payments for all employees. This position is full-time remote or hybrid depending on location with great benefits.

Payroll Specialist Essential Job Functions:

  • Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to gather and validate payroll information, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
  • Monitor and resolve payroll discrepancies, investigating and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
  • Generate payroll reports, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and other required reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including tax filings and benefits reconciliations.
  • Support 401(k) reporting and audit.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations.
  • Support HR with payroll and other related tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
  • Experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Detail Oriented.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
