We are undertaking a talent pool recruitment to fill multiple ongoing and temporary Policy and Project Officer roles. We are looking for a diverse range of policy and/or project skills, experience and backgrounds and we’re keen to hear from you!

About the role 

Our Policy and Project Officer roles have a leading role in managing the development, implementation, monitoring, improvement and evaluation of key policies, programs and projects within NSW business, government and household sectors.

They are pivotal to ensuring our policies and projects are effective, innovative and meet priority objectives while demonstrating good value for public expenditure and achieving critical state outcomes.

 

About You 

  • Ability to achieve assigned policy and/or programs objectives within a high volume and evolving work environment.
  • You will be confident in supporting complex and sensitive consultations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines and varying expectations.
  • Provide policy or project analysis and advice to support the development and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Manage policy and project plans or documentation to assist the team progress the project/policy and meet their delivery deadlines.
  • You will have experience in advising and implementing the priorities of deadlines for delivery of policies, projects and/or elements of programs.
  • Experience in delivering projects and ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Proven ability in influencing stakeholders to take action on delivering program/project outcomes.
  • Experience in delivering successful outcomes within sustainability, climate change, resilience, adaptation and/or net zero emissions programs/policy is highly desirable.

Part of the work the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability Group delivers, the Consumer Energy Strategy, is one of the highest priority programs and will support households and small businesses in their role at the centre of NSW’s energy transition to net zero emissions, NSW Consumer Energy Strategy Summary. This talent pool recruitment will be used to help fill roles across this program to deliver these outcomes for NSW.

A talent pool will be created through this recruitment process that lasts for 18 months. A talent pool represents a group of applicants who have been assessed and identified as suitable for this role or similar roles and who may be considered for the next 18 months for a range of similar roles, including temporary or ongoing roles.
