Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Freelance Press Officer based in Japan to join our team for a short-term project. As the Press Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our brand’s voice in Japan, managing media relations, and ensuring our content reaches the right audiences. This mission will last for 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a media relations strategy to enhance TRENDS Tokyo’s clients visibility in Japan.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
- Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials in both English and Japanese.
- Handle media inquiries and arrange interviews, events, and press coverage.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing regular reports and insights to the team.
- Collaborate with the editorial and social media teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging across platforms.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or communications, preferably within the fashion or lifestyle industry.
- Strong network of media contacts in Japan, particularly in lifestyle, and culture sectors.
- Fluent in Japanese and English, with good writing and communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with international brands or media outlets is a plus.
