About the Role:
The Procurement Manager will partner with senior business stakeholders to gain deep understanding of requirements, objectives and influencing strategy to deliver tailored procurement solutions and plans which are aligned to business need and ensure maximum value creation.
The role is accountable for leading the creation of category plans and strategies that provide insights, create opportunities for value creation and are agreed by the business and will lead the delivery and performance of full life-cycle procurement across their portfolio (planning, sourcing, management) and will lead a team of category managers in the delivery of end-to-end procurement solutions, including category planning, sourcing, benefits identification and tracking, contract management planning, handover and assurance. The role is accountable for both Customer Relationship Management (for specified Business Units) and Strategic Supplier Relationship management for their portfolio.
About You:
- 10+ years’ working experience across procurement lifecycle management, governance frameworks and cost levers, with a deep understanding across all disciplines of end-to-end category management.
- Leading the development and implementation of category strategies and annual plans acros a Portfolio which are aligned to business goals and leverage market intelligence.
- Deep understanding of strategic cost modelling and key commercial drivers including total cost of ownership, should and could costs, commodity levers, dynamic insights, category dashboards, benefits calculation, and tracking.
- Experience in a centre-led category management, contract management and strategic supplier relationship management environment.
- Establishment of strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing insights driven procurement solutions to business challenges.
- Mentoring internal stakeholders and team in best practice procurement, enhancing their capabilities, and improving overall procurement and supply management efficiency.
- Conducting and leading comprehensive risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing recovery plans to ensure project continuity and success.
- Managing the preparation and presentation of high-quality plans, strategies and commercial submissions to senior leadership and executive teams, supporting informed decision-making.
- Utilising data analysis and market insights to inform procurement strategies, optimise expenditures, and drive value across the organisation.
Management Experience
- 5+ years planning, organising, leading and day to day management of a professional, high performing Category Management team.
- Leading teams through transformation to deliver functional strategy and business outcomes.
- Development and mentoring of Procurement & Supply team members to uplift and enhance capability and ensure ongoing relevance and credibility of technical credentials.
- Proficiency in leading cross-functional project teams to achieve key objectives and outcomes, including identifying and management conflict resolution and stakeholder expectation management.
