Key Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive lifecycle of product development from inception to launch, ensuring that all project controls are adhered to.
- Manage compliance initiatives with a thorough understanding of state laws and regulations, implementing necessary operational alterations to maintain statutory adherence.
- Conduct thorough analyses and monitor the performance of insurance products alongside competitor movements to inform data-driven decisions related to underwriting, coverage, and pricing.
- Research, develop, and uphold coverage forms and endorsements for both new and existing products.
- Identifying challenges proactively and presenting strategic insights aimed at enhancing outcomes while pursuing growth and profitability avenues.
- Foster an environment of innovation by advocating for creative ideas and initiatives while taking calculated risks.
- Provide strategic counsel to executive management, implementing product strategies and objectives across various business units.
- Perform competitive analyses to pinpoint viable product offerings.
- Formulate and execute recommendations on product, underwriting, and pricing to support profitability and growth targets.
- Cultivate robust relationships within the team and across the organization, ensuring project goals are achieved.
- Oversee regulatory rate, rule, and form filings, ensuring compliance with established regulatory and legislative practices.
- Offer support for various ad hoc requests as required.
- Potentially manage direct report(s) as needed.
Required Skills
- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in insurance product management, with a preference for experience in commercial lines.
- A bachelor’s degree in a quantitatively analytical discipline such as Insurance, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills that enable effective collaboration.
- Proven ability to prioritize, plan, implement, manage, and oversee projects adhering to established project management methodologies.
- Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical capabilities coupled with a solid grasp of pricing principles.
- In-depth knowledge of P&C insurance product design and underwriting concepts.
- Background in legal or regulatory research is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, execute promptly, and drive results.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, requirements, or priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with software/programming languages and tools for critical analytical applications is a plus.
