Job Summary:
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the launch and growth of Really Great Reading’s portfolio of foundational literacy solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of the K-12 industry, the customer, and the market. The PMM collaborates cross-functionally to help teams inform the ongoing development of existing programs and plan for the development of new product offerings. The Product Marketing Manager designs and executes marketing launch plans, enables the sales team, conducts market research and competitive analysis, and crafts appealing positioning to support awareness and lead-gen efforts.
Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Positioning & Messaging:
- Develop best-in-class product positioning and messaging that differentiates RGR’s products in the market.
- Create and refine product value propositions, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company goals.
- Work closely with product management to translate product features into clear, customer-focused benefits.
Sales Enablement:
- Build and maintain a suite of sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, product sheets, competitive battle cards, and case studies.
- Act as a liaison between marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
Go-to-Market Coordination:
- Support the planning and execution of product launches, working cross-functionally with product management, sales, customer success, and marketing teams.
- Develop go-to-market strategies that drive product adoption and growth.
- Monitor and report on the performance of product launches and campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
Market & Competitive Insights:
- Deliver comprehensive Competitive Analysis to help inform and shape the products positioning and effectively differentiate the product in the market.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback to guide product improvements and innovation.
- Provide regular updates and insights to leadership on market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product management, and sales teams to drive alignment on product marketing priorities and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Experience & education: Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 4 years of Product Marketing experience in EdTech, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. PreK-12 literacy experience preferred.
- Customer empathy: Strategic marketer with a passion for deeply understanding the customer.
- Product Launch Experience: Proven track record of managing successful product launches from ideation to execution.
- Sales Enablement Expertise: Strong experience in developing sales enablement tools and training programs.
- Market Analysis: Skilled in conducting market research and competitive analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and present ideas clearly.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certifications (e.g. Product Marketing Alliance) is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Some experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), as well as analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Travel: Up to 10% travel may be needed, for participation in in-person meetings and conferences.
