Ausgrid is on an exciting transformation journey and now is the time to be a part of something big! Ausgrid is the largest distributor of electricity on Australia’s east coast, providing power to four million people and playing a critical role in leading and delivering the transition to a low-cost, reliable and decarbonised economy.

At Ausgrid, we pride ourselves on being a leader in our industry. As we continue to grow, we are in search of exceptional talent to help us achieve our goals. Together, we can move towards a smarter, more sustainable future.

Your new role
Are you a dynamic leader ready to drive the development of major infrastructure projects that transform communities and strengthen our network? As a Project Development Manager at Ausgrid, you’ll oversee a talented team managing complex external projects and internal capital initiatives, steering them from concept to approval and implementation.

In this pivotal role, you’ll craft project strategies, lead stakeholder engagement, and deliver innovative solutions that balance technical, environmental, and commercial challenges. From working with government agencies to consulting with community representatives, your expertise will ensure every project is thoughtfully planned, risk-managed, and cost-effective.

This role isn’t just about managing projects; it’s about leading with impact. You’ll foster collaboration, share lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement to elevate team performance. If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes while shaping the future of infrastructure, this is your chance to lead meaningful change at Ausgrid.

Spark our interest!
Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Business or a related commercial discipline.
  • Extensive experience in designing and developing the conceptual specifications for electrical infrastructure, or other major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in employing risk management and good governance approaches to the design and conceptualisation stages of major capital works projects.
  • Creative ability to develop innovative, practical and cost effective solutions to critical design and infrastructure problems.
  • Demonstrated proven analytical and problem resolution skills, with the ability to deliver project outcomes with strong project, contract, procurement, financial and logistical management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop a team, develop efficient and effective work practices, successfully implement change and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Superior communication skills and business acumen including experience in developing advice and preparing complex reports, submissions and briefing documents.
  • Superior liaison, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to liaise with and foster effective working relationships and influence and negotiate at all organisation levels.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of confidentially and discretion when dealing with sensitive or personal matters.
