Program Lead Future Workforce | New South Wales Rural Doctors Network | Australia

Rural Doctors Network (RDN) is seeking an organised and enthusiastic Program Lead to join our team on a full time basis  to work on initiatives aimed at attracting health professionals to work within regional and rural NSW.

The Program Lead will coordinate a range of existing RDN Future Workforce programs and initiatives targeted at attracting medical, nursing and allied health students in their early career to work in regional and rural NSW.  

New graduates or those completing Masters in Public Health will be considered. 

Reporting to the Future Workforce Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking end-to-end program management for existing RDN Future Workforce programs and initiatives
  • Creating and managing project plans, implementation plans, stakeholder registers and program schedules
  • Coordinating and attending program activities and events providing strong program and event management support
  • Coordinate and lead students on our four day Go Rural road trips to showcase the benefits of working rurally
  • Working closely with the students to support them to understand and navigate the various workforce pathways, scholarships, and programs available to them
  • Developing trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support/enable successful program outcomes
  • Working closely with the future workforce team to promote the Future Workforce programs and initiatives to students and key stakeholders
  • Supporting the evaluation of all programs and initiatives

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to travel to the rural communities we support to deliver these initiatives and programs first-hand! This may include overnight trips as well as some weekend travel.

RDN is open to receiving applications from candidates based in Sydney, Newcastle, or Regional/Rural NSW.

We encourage candidates with transferable skills and experience not within the health sector to apply!

About you

Ideally, you will bring to the position:

  • Demonstrated experience in a program/project/event management role with success in applying effective project planning and coordination techniques
  • Strong stakeholder relationship/engagement skills with the ability to engage with a high volume of internal and external stakeholders, including students and/or younger people in a professional setting
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An appreciation of the health challenges facing regional and rural NSW communities
  • Intermediate use of MS Office and CRM database experience. Salesforce knowledge preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake regular monthly travel to regional areas
  • Current driver’s licence
