About the role:

Gen3 seeks a stellar Program Manager to play a key role in supporting the State of Maryland with their IT project operations. This individual will serve as the single point of contact for the State, overseeing and directing all resources provided under the program. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall governance, planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, control, quality assurance, and implementation of course corrections for assigned projects.

Location: Remote, US. However, it would be beneficial if the candidate is located in the State of Maryland.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget
  • Identify and assess potential issues and risks, recommending mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate discussions and meetings between the State agency and Contractor teams
  • Ensure project performance aligns with scope, requirements, and deadlines
  • Identify critical project paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria
  • Oversee the application of State SDLC standards
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Monitor project issues and provide timely resolutions for up-to-date status reports
  • Document and deliver project management-related artifacts

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • 5+ years of experience using PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) methodologies and artifacts
  • 10+ years of experience in project management
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex IT development
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role for successful projects with an organizational change management component involving cross-organizational stakeholder groups

What’s Desired to Have:

Previous experience supporting federal or state agencies, especially the State of Maryland, is highly desired.
