The opportunity
The position focuses on assisting with the delivery and completion of GWW’s capital-programmed works. It plays a crucial role in ensuring project delivery aligns with safety and compliance standards while also establishing strong delivery partnerships. Furthermore, the role emphasises prioritising customer needs, striving for high performance, and fostering employee development to position GWW as leader in the water industry.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Deliver and manage projects under project requirements, timelines, budgets, design standards, and procurement rules while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
- Manage project budgets, completing financial management and reporting, assessing contractors’ progress claims, and reviewing variations claims.
- Ensure projects are fully functional before handover, oversee handover to operational teams, prepare teams to operate assets safely and efficiently, ensure accuracy of As-Constructed information, and conduct project reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by communicating with residents and landowners, maintaining healthy working relationships with various work groups, and engaging with stakeholders such as utilities, local councils, VicRoads, government organisations, and contractors.
- Represent and promote the section group and GWW, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, championing safety and customer-centric project delivery, demonstrating key people attributes, and sharing knowledge whenever possible.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (relevant discipline) or equivalent
- Experience in Project Management
- Experience in managing safety on construction sites and/or maintenance workplaces.
- Working with contractors and field personnel
- Planning, design or construction of assets
