Job description / Role

General Description:
• Assist the Senior Project Manager in delivery of Project Management requirements for Project(s) managed by the Authority
• Draft, review or recommend any Project Management related documents as required
• Review and ensure that Project Management principles are incorporated and applied
• Identify, develop and promote Programme and Project required Project Management polices
• Provide progress reports as and when required
• Attendance at relevant meetings

Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure and review compliance with Project Management procedures and processes.
• Liaise with various internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively manage various Projects
• Lead planning and implementation of Project
• Define Project tasks and resource requirements
• Develop full scale Project plans
• Assemble and coordinate Project staff
• Manage Project budget
• Manage Project resource allocation
• Plan and schedule Project timelines
• Track Project deliverables using appropriate tools
• Provide direction and support to Project team
• Oversee quality assurance
• Strong presentation skills (creating and delivering)
• Prepare presentations for workshops, management meetings, etc.
• Collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide support to the Senior Project Manager where required on Project Management matters.

Required Skills and Competencies:
• Minimum 15 years’ post graduate experience in major infrastructure and drainage Projects.
• At least 8 years in a similar position for projects with an RCC/GRP/HDPE pipeline
• Must have worked on a micro-tunnelling project in the last 10 years.
• Conversant with the construction methodology of deep manholes and chambers.
• Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects and managing teams of engineers.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the Project.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and Project Management principles
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office
• A “rounded profile”, with experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management analysis and commercial considerations
• Technically proficient in all aspects of Project Management such as technical, commercial, Project controls (programme, planning, risk, systems compliance etc.
• Effective in building good working relationships, both internally and with various Project stakeholders

Mandatory Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in an appropriate field such as Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Evidence of suitable professional qualification PMP or equivalent is preferable
• Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Driver’s License

Desirable requirements
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Arabic language skills
• Chartered engineer status from a recognized institution
