Job Summary:
The Associate Project Manager assists the technical project managers within the Converge PMO in setting up projects in the tracking system, tracking project milestones, approving timecards, tracking progress against budgets and overseeing invoices to be submitted to customers. They may help coordinating meetings, assigning resources, and providing project documentation to the team and client executives. Associate Project Managers handle projects with the goal of seeing them through on time and within budget. When not working with customers, the Associate Project Manager will be helping to improve the PMO Practice. This includes working with the PMO team on process improvements, reporting needs and managing the customer survey process.

Essential Functions:
- Familiar with all systems, tools, and templates provided by the PMO.
- Review SOW and complete initial planning activities.
- Can create and maintain detailed project plans within standard tools.
- Able to properly use the standard PSA tool, project planning tool, and project management templates.
- Able to track project budget accurately.
- Ability to facilitate all project meetings while capturing and assigning out follow-up tasks to team members.
- Ability to escalate and articulate challenges as needed.
- Work with resource managers to assign project resources.
- Conduct internal and external project kick off calls with slide deck.
- Conduct internal and external status meetings regularly.
- Approve project timesheets and invoices.
- Conduct project close out meetings.
- Submit customer surveys.
- Achieve project management utilization targets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Ethical and Critical Thinking.
- Ability to adhere to and leverage best practices as defined by the PMO and/or well recognized project management frameworks such as PMBoK.
- Strong understanding of the different project types and methodologies, knowing when to use each.
- Basic Technical knowledge in the areas of Cloud, IT Infrastructure, Analytics, Cybersecurity
- Good understanding of common technical terminology and implementation methods for the aligned technology practice area.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Entry-level project management position
- PMI CAPM (preferred)
- ITIL (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- At least 1-5 years related experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
