Job Title: PMO Senior Project Manager
Position Overview: The PMO Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple small, medium, and large customer-facing engagements from receiving the signed SOW to completion of services across one or more of the Converge technology practice groups. Projects will be mostly aligned to a single technology practice area. The PMO Senior Project Manager will work closely with technical team members and managers within the technology practice to ensure PMO alignment to standard delivery methodology, lessons learned/continuous delivery improvement, team building, and other PMO/practice alignment efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Prerequisite and product tracking
- Review SOW and complete initial planning activities
- Work with resource managers to assign project resources
- Conduct internal and external project kick off calls w/slide deck
- Conduct internal and external weekly status meetings
- Create and maintain the weekly status report template for each project
- Track task completion %, budget, scope changes, schedule, issues, risks
- Create and maintain the project plan
- Ensure milestone billing notifications are sent to accounting
- Approve project timesheets and invoices
- Consistently complete weekly update of PSA tool project status, status notes, start/end dates
- Update and maintain project technical resource schedules/bookings in the PSA tool
- Attend weekly project review meeting to discuss/provide updates to management on projects in progress
- Conduct project close out meeting and lessons learned meeting
- Submit customer surveys
- PSA administrative closeout
- Consistently achieve project management utilization targets
- Mentor other project managers
- Participate in knowledge sharing activities to build a consistent and high value customer experience
- Practice Alignment (as needed)
- Share project lessons learned with practice team members and assist the technology practice with identifying improvements
- Assist in the development of standard project delivery methods, project plans, and documentation deliverable templates for the technologies within the practice
Job Qualification
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Basic Technical Knowledge in the Areas of IT Infrastructure, Structured Cabling
- Technical Knowledge of structured cabling and Ethernet Technologies and a working knowledge of the best practices and industry standards per BICSI, (CAT6, fiber, when IDF’s are needed)
- Experience coordinating and working with third party cable technicians throughout the US and North America. Solid communication with partners that represent the company in the field.
- Ability to develop project specific SOWs and floor plans to follow for national rollouts. Making sure doc is universal and easy to follow regardless of where work is being performed
- Experience in management of internal teams and communication from Project Management support to accounting and product ordering for the project
- Established history of account development where accounts are ongoing and customer comes to Converge for work to be performed based on past positive experiences as opposed to putting all work out to bid
- Experience in project identifying change order activities/best practice solutions to follow.
- Experience knowing trades needed (union/non-union) and/or if COI’s are needed for projects
- In depth experience in 1 or more of the above
- Experience with Agile Methodology on Software Development Projects (preferred)
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication to Technical and Non-technical Individuals

- Strong Issue and Problem-Solving Skills
- Customer Service Mindset (Internal and External)
- OpenAir, Smartsheets, and Jira Experience (preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- PMP Certification (preferred)
- RCDD Certification (a plus)
- 10+ years of experience managing medium to large projects within the aligned technology practice area
