Location: Memphis, TN or Remote
The MDM Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of Master Data Management projects from initiation through implementation. The role will be an integral part of multiple cross-functional technology teams, including
Product Data and PIM, and will work with business partners to determine and translate business and data
requirements into robust technology solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong functional project management skills, exceptional people skills, leadership presence and strategic thinking capabilities. They must be able to lead MDM change initiatives and continuous improvements, in tandem with ongoing, high priority operational activities, to ensure all objectives are met.
Primary Duties
Oversee all aspects of master data management projects from start to finish, working closely with the
MDM Director and business to prioritize project and non-project MDM activity
Gather data management and solution requirements, and manage both requirements and issues in
issue-tracking systems
Oversee the design and development of data solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and effective data
management
Facilitate development and implementation of best practices for data storage, retrieval, and analytics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance standards
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, documentation, change requests, risks,
and issues to ensure timely resolution and maximum business benefit
Develop high-level project plans and ensure the scope and approach are fully understood by all
stakeholders
Assemble project plans, ensure all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and direct
and monitor teams efforts on a regular basis
Validate schedule, resource and cost estimates and actively seek clarification/verification as needed
and appropriate
Identify, track, measure, and report on project progress and key project milestones
Communicate project status to stakeholders, including expenses, forecasts, schedules, and risk/issue
assessments
Negotiate resources and build teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and
maintained throughout the course of the project life cycle
Ensure accurate reflection of project budgets within project and issue tracking tools
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience leading MDM projects
A proven track record of successfully planning, implementing and deploying MDM projects as a project
manager in technology / data management businesses / domains
Knowledge of Master Data Management, MDM vendor implementation, data integration, dimensional
modeling, enterprise reporting and analysis, as well as demonstrated experience in data quality, data
lineage and data process management.
Confidence in decision-making and problem-solving, particularly in navigating challenges associated
with complex MDM projects
Solid understanding of software development life cycles, expert knowledge of both agile and
traditional project management practices, and understanding of non-project MDM work operations
Proven ability to effectively build interpersonal relationships and achieve alignment across a wide
range of functions and constituents
Ability to communicate effectively, and to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Sound grasp of the key business drivers and considerations for master data management projects
Familiarity with up-to-date project management and master data management methods and
frameworks
Experience with project management and issue tracking tools
Helpful Skills and Experience
Experience in Wholesale and/or Retail industries
Familiarity with Product Information Management (PIM) systems
Familiarity with Product/SKU, Vendor, Customer and Employee data
Familiarity with Databases, ETL, Data Taxonomies, software integration and APIs
Familiarity with Workfront and/or other project and issue tracking tools
This is a fully remote position and the successful candidate must be based in the USA or
