The Purpose of the Role:

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of automated storage systems projects, including vertical lift machines and trolley storage machines, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and provide technical oversight to ensure the seamless integration of their machines into client operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple simultaneous installation and upgrade projects, from initiation to completion, adhering to timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring alignment with their requirements and expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, design, operations, software development, and field services) and external vendors to ensure project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead project meetings and workshops to ensure clarity on goals, progress, and roadblocks.
  • Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of automated storage machines and systems.
  • Manage projects in diverse locations, accommodating different time zones, languages, and cultural expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards during installations and service work.
  • Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and performance benchmarks.

The Person we need:

  • Proven track record of managing technical projects
  • Evidence of an ability to adapt to varying engineering industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Design or similar field)
  • Strong technical knowledge of automated storage systems, robotics, or material handling equipment may be an advantage
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information
  • Strong organisational, leadership, communication and teamwork abilities
  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure
