Reporting to the General Manager, this role plays a pivotal role in leading, coordinating and delivering multiple VET related projects, often simultaneously, from tender submission through to successful completion.
 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of VET projects.
  • Develop project plans, timelines and resource allocation strategies (both internal and third party), including key milestones, workstreams and activities.
  • Develop project budgets based on requirements and track costs to deliver within budget.
  • Manage the delivery of the project according to the project plan.
  • Track projects and provide regular reports on project status to project team, management and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage relationships and communications with key stakeholders, including government, industry, individuals, and RTOs.
  • Undertake research activities, including high quality consultation with a range of stakeholders and supported by desktop research and surveys.
  • Analyse research findings, both qualitatively and quantitatively and produce recommendations. 
  • Develop submissions, reports and related documents, including those for public comment and that promote new policy approaches to policy makers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector is essential.
  • Experience in project management and delivery.
  • Experience undertaking research, data analysis, technical writing and corporate government reporting.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the forest, wood, paper, timber and furnishing industries as well as textiles, clothing & footwear sector is advantageous but not essential.
