Job Description
Project Manager with Estimating Experience
Swenson Stone Consultants is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in natural stone estimating to lead commercial and residential projects from inception to completion. This role combines advanced estimating skills with full project oversight, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery. This position is ideal for candidates with proven leadership abilities and technical expertise who are looking to advance their career in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Natural Stone Estimating
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for natural stone projects, including materials, labor, and transportation.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare competitive bids.
- Collaborate with suppliers and fabricators to source high-quality materials at the best cost.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining design integrity and project standards.
- Present and justify estimates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Project Management
- Lead project planning, including scope, schedule, and budget development.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from procurement to final installation, ensuring adherence to quality and timelines.
- Monitor and control project budgets, proactively addressing variances to avoid overruns.
- Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and industry standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and adjustments.
- Manage change orders and document all scope modifications.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in project management and estimating, preferably in natural stone or construction-related industries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field (required).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, MS Project).
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with natural stone materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and deliver complex projects successfully.
- Problem-Solving: Advanced analytical skills to identify risks, troubleshoot challenges, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting to clients and coordinating with teams.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
