Job Summary:

As the QA Engineer, you will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and performance of 8020REI’s platforms and tools. You will be the sole QA resource at the company, responsible for implementing testing processes from scratch, leveraging automation tools, and working closely with the development and design teams to deliver reliable and high-performing products. This position offers the opportunity to grow into a senior role as the team expands.

👨‍💻 👩‍💻 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain the entire QA process from scratch, ensuring robust test coverage.
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand and validate feature requirements.
• Implement automated testing frameworks using Java.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and plans to ensure the quality and performance of our software products.
• Act as the primary QA resource, independently ensuring the reliability of all software releases.
• Report testing results and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
• Take ownership of the QA pipeline with a strong focus on attention to detail.

📝 Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, ideally with at least 3-5 years in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and automation tools.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing processes.
• Ability to work independently and establish QA best practices from the ground up.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is also highly valued.
• A plus: proficiency in Cucumber, Gherkin, Gradle, Serenity BDD, Serenity Rest, Serenity Js, Playwright, Screen Play, use and implementation of GitHub Actions for Continuous Testing, Cohn Piramid, SOLID principles, FIRST principles and/or incident tracking.
