Job Description

AIRM Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Quality Assurance Developer/Engineer who thrives on combining technical expertise with a big-picture understanding of user needs. This role is ideal for someone who can go beyond automated testing to ensure the platform meets the real-world workflows and expectations of farmers, brokers, and agricultural stakeholders.

As a Quality Assurance Developer/Engineer you will play a pivotal role in delivering a reliable, user-centered platform that supports agricultural operations. You’ll contribute to building solutions that address the complexities of insurance and risk management in agriculture, ensuring our tools are both technically robust and practically impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure software quality, with a strong emphasis on understanding user workflows and real-world agricultural practices.
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks for functional, integration, and performance testing.
  • Conduct manual testing to validate platform usability, workflows, and system interactions from the perspectives of farmers and brokers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user requirements and translate them into actionable testing strategies.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback focused on improving the platform’s alignment with agricultural use cases.
  • Participate in user feedback sessions to refine testing approaches and identify potential usability challenges.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating comprehensive automated testing processes.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes and driving innovation in testing strategies.

Qualifications

You MUST RESIDE IN CANADA for this position.

Apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • A B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in software quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools.
  • Experience in programming/scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira or TestRail.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

· Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a user-centered mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of agricultural workflows, insurance, and broker operations is a significant asset.
  • User-Centric Testing: Proven experience in designing tests that reflect real-world use cases and end-user workflows.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) and tools such as React, Django, Postgres, and AWS.
  • GIS Experience: Familiarity with geospatial tools and methodologies is a plus.
