Job Specification: Regional Sales Manager

Position Overview

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for growing a sales region, comprised of over 100 customers. We are looking for a sales professional who is adept at growing existing accounts as well as hunting for and opening new accounts. We are looking for someone to cover the Southeast coast region consisting of Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina. Lummus uses a key account selling approach, so knowledge of sales methodologies, such as Miller Heiman is helpful. This could be a Remote position.

The goal is to become a trusted partner to our customers and to gain 100% share of the customer’s parts and equipment ginning spend. Building, fostering, and maintaining strong, long-term relationships is key to success within this business.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue generation from both existing and new accounts within each product segment: equipment and parts
  • Generate territory sales growth, above a market growth rate
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Develop key projects within accounts, which lead to equipment and/or parts sales
  • Develop an annual sales plan for the individual sales territory
  • Learn and understand the Lummus product offering
  • Working with internal team, provide information for and/or develop sales quotes
  • Develop and maintain a strong funnel, which is continuously adequate to generate the required sales targets
  • Effectively work a value-added selling process, including penetrating the account at all levels, developing appropriate relationships and understanding all player’s roles within the account
  • Understand the spectrum of customer needs from transactional to trusted advisor and apply and execute sales tactics appropriately
  • Understand the client’s business strategy, challenges and opportunities to drive meaningful conversations and values for all stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain intra-company relationships consistent with our values; partner with Engineering to develop new product ideas

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (business or Agriculture preferred); mechanical aptitude helpful
  • 3 years sales experience, with proven track record of generating positive results, growing sales and exceeding targets
  • Must have a hunter mentality and a drive for results, willingness to outwork the competition everyday
  • Selling experience within the manufacturing environment with demonstrated proficiency penetrating and selling key decision makers
  • Ability to analyze data, determine key information and develop action plans to show value and close business
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to achieve goals by influencing others internally and externally
  • General manufacturing, agricultural or cotton industry experience preferred
  • Some knowledge of sales methodologies and key account selling techniques preferred
  • A self-starter, ability to develop and work a schedule, and work a territory unsupervised
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with CRM systems
  • Strong PC, Excel and Power Point skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively, as needed

Comp packaging includes competitive salary and commission structure with company transportation or car allowance
