About the Role:
The company is seeking an outstanding Requirements Engineer who will be responsible for eliciting the real needs of the product stakeholders, then defining, analysing, specifying, managing and communicating product specifications based on these needs.
You will serve as the conduit between the product managers (who interface with the user community and other stakeholders) and the development te
am through which the requirements flow. You will therefore be involved throughout the entire product development life cycle.
You will work with a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers and enjoy a challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Subject matter expert in tooling and the processes that ensure effective requirements management
  • Establish the Technical System Requirements from the clinical workflows and product management inputs
  • Cross-team linkage between process, requirements, product
  • Contribute to the ongoing creation and adherence to all Vision RT internal design standards and development processes
  • Identify commonalities and opportunities for cross-fertilisation, collaborative development and interoperability
  • Create and maintain automation tools to ease the tasks demanded of the role
  • Embrace the company culture of empowerment and agility
  • Work in accordance with Vision RT’s Quality Management System
  • Comply with project plans, company and industry standards
  • Participate in all agile events where applicable


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Graduate in an engineering, medical or scientific discipline
  • 3 years of commercial requirements engineering experience.
  • Inheriting and working within a set of established product requirements, as well as taking a leading role in ensuring their future management.
  • An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, and management best practices and the ability to apply them in practice according to software product development life cycles in a team environment;
  • The ability to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
  • The ability to communicate and represent requirements in natural language and graphical forms, including the use of modelling languages (UML).
  • Participate in requirements prioritization.
  • Enter, manipulate, and report on requirements stored in a commercial requirements management tool (for example Sparx Enterprise Architect and Matrix ALM).
  • Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage changes to baselined requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools.
  • Establish and implement effective requirements practices, including use and continuous improvement of a requirements process. Assist with the development of the organisation’s requirements engineering policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Assist product management in product planning through requirements development and analysis.


Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Working within a highly regulated industry
  • Leading/managing a team of requirements engineers
  • Knowledge of medical devices, specifically radiotherapy devices.
  • Experience in using Sparx Enterprise Architect for requirements management and modeling.
  • Familiarity with requirements engineering standards, and resources such as: ISO/IEC 25000 – System and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation, ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 – Systems and software engineering — Life cycle processes — Requirements engineering
