What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Review and research clinical documentation, coding, encounter details, and line item charges for accurate billing related to clinical trials and research studies
• Ensure timely and efficient completion of research billing edits for clean claim billing and re-billing
• Act as a vital resource for internal and external professionals regarding research billing compliance and processes
• Provide team support through coaching, training, and problem-solving to enhance customer service
• Conduct necessary account research and balance verification to ensure adherence to billing policies and procedures

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years of healthcare billing/collections experience
• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare/billing and collections/financial experience required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with research billing compliance regulations preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• CCS, CPC, or similar certification required (or to be obtained within one year of employment)
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
• Experience with Charge Description Master (CDM) and Physician/Hospital fee schedules
• Ability to interpret and apply analytical criteria in billing and collections situations
