About the Job: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, particularly in industries such as pharmaceuticals, mining, and other relevant sectors in the Sydney area. This role involves cold calling potential clients, lead generation, estimation, and documentation for control systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cold calls to potential clients, particularly companies in pharmaceuticals, mining, and related industries within the Sydney area, to identify and secure new control systems projects.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of potential clients and systematically target them for lead generation.
  • Utilize estimation skills to accurately gauge project costs and prepare documentation for control systems projects.
  • Collaborate with the team to understand client requirements and tailor solutions that meet their needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities and client interactions in CRM systems, such as HubSpot.
  • Answer incoming inquiries and manage outgoing communication with potential clients via phone and email.
  • Generate and qualify leads through research, networking, and leveraging existing contacts.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure seamless communication and project handover.
  • Continuously develop and maintain a strong understanding of control systems, their applications, and benefits.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, particularly in control systems, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong cold-calling and lead generation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems and their functions is required.
  • Proficient in using CRM software, preferably HubSpot, for managing leads and sales activities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in documentation and estimation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
