Theakston’s are one of UK’s most iconic ale brewers. Established almost 200 years ago in the North Yorkshire market town of Masham, this family controlled brewing company is famous for the quality of its beers and in particular for the legendary Old Peculier Ale. Theakston’s enjoys both a national profile and a regional strength that has helped its cask and keg beers build sales strongly. With a strong mix of both heritage and innovation we have an ambitious agenda for growth.
We are looking for an experienced sales professional who loves building brand distribution, shares our passion for great cask and keg ale and our belief that On Trade success is built on close, supportive customer relationships.

The Role:
Working with our route to market partners in the free trade and pub companies to expand and retain our distribution base across our cask and keg portfolio.
Successful candidates will have excellent knowledge of the ale category and the experience to be a trusted advisor to licensees on how to maximise their profitability from cask ale through great beer quality, ranging and quality of serve. They will build and value deep relationships with customers, route to market partners and Pub Co operations teams; be prepared to go the extra mile to retain customers and have the hunger to enjoy the winning of new distribution for our brands.
Key accountabilities and outputs:
• Building net distribution growth of the Theakston portfolio across cask and keg ale across all On Trade route to market channels.
• Ensure customers are fully supported with issue resolution to retain our brand distribution
• Maximise beer quality of Theakston brands through appropriate outlet selection and beer quality advice and interventions with licensees
• Supporting the visibility of Theakston brands in outlet through the appropriate use of POS materials
• Driving and achieving distribution targets for NPD in line with our innovation agenda
• Maintaining a broad industry knowledge and category understanding to be a trusted advisor to licensees
We would love to hear from you if you have:
• A passion for beer. We love beer and so do our customers. Previous experience with a cask or craft beer offer would be ideal
• Strong commercial knowledge and awareness, highly organised, ability to work on own initiative and able to take responsibility
• Ambition and the will to succeed and overcome challenges. Ability to drive the business forward
• Confident and enthusiastic personality who takes real pride in building deep customer relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
• Strong commercial awareness, understanding business trends within the On Trade market and wider beer industry
• Proficiency in basic IT skills
